We provide a variety of services to our Dutch Harbor customers, including marine fuel and lubricant sales, equipment and storage rentals, as well as operating the town’s only gas station, all while meeting the Petro Star commitment to customer service that's second to none.

Petro Star in Dutch Harbor, operating as North Pacific Fuel ("NPF"), covers the waterfront and beyond. Our facilities at the Resoff Dock, Captains Bay and Ballyhoo include four marine fueling facilities; a fleet of fuel trucks for shoreside and dockside deliveries and a full line of services for fishing vessel offloads, including warehousing, equipment and labor rentals, and outside storage.



PSI Dutch Harbor Administrative Assistant assists the Terminal Manager and Administrative Manager with day-to-day administrative functions.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (and other duties as assigned)

  • Assist customers by taking orders via telephone, radio, or in-person and communicating their needs to appropriate personnel when necessary.
  • Assist customers with mail, freight, phone, faxes, coffee, invoicing, payment and vehicle requests.
  • Verify customers’ accounts are in good standing before goods and/or services are provided.
  • Obtain customer’s purchase orders as needed before goods and/or services are provided.
  • Obtain pertinent information and prepare customer service orders for billing.
  • Record and disseminate credit card payment information.
  • Process accounts payable, including issue purchase orders, follow-up on billing problems or errors, and ensure payments are made in a timely manner.
  • Assist site managers with correspondence, spreadsheets, databases, etc. as needed.
  • Bill bulk fuel and package product sales from the various locations.
  • Bill customer service orders.
  • Process ingoing and outgoing mail.
  • Provide copies of invoices and tickets to customers and/or other offices as requested.
  • Maintain customer files.
  • Participate in inventory control and quarterly counts.
  • Assist on the dock or in the office during spills and/or spill drills and be present onsite to complete required company and governmental documentation.
  • Must keep customer coffee area supplied and in a neat, clean manner.
  • Order office supplies and maintain a well-organized supply cabinet.
  • Generate invoices for charges on gasoline/automotive sales and assist with daily office work at NPF Gas ‘N Go.


  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 1-2 years related work experience.
  • Must work well under pressure; must be able to prioritize, multi-task, operate in a team-oriented atmosphere, and communicate effectively.
  • Must have knowledge of general office procedures, & accounting principles.
  • Must have good customer service and telephone etiquette.
  • Must be able to operate computer, 10-key, phone, fax machine, and radio effectively.
  • Preferred:  Competent computer skills (MS Word, Excel, Outlook E-mail including grammar and spell checking options in all programs). 

This is not a rotational job on the North Slope.  You must live in the Dutch Harbor/Unalaska area or be willing to relocate at your own expense.
