The Multi-skilled HVAC mechanic is responsible for preventive maintenance, troubleshooting and repairing of all facility and drill site mechanical equipment field wide. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (AND OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED)

  • Provide HVAC services with specific responsibility for identifying, repairing, and/or replacement needs; installing, repairing, maintaining and upgrading HVAC systems and equipment; assisting other skilled trades; and ensuring that tools and materials are available at job site.
  • Candidate must first and foremost be able and willing to comply with the AES safety policy and the Alaska Safety Handbook, and must be willing and able to lead and educate fellow employees in safe work ethics, practices, and behaviors.
  • Inspects HVAC systems and their components (e.g. heating units, building exhaust fans, ventilation units, etc.) for the purpose of evaluating condition, identifying necessary repairs and recommending preventive maintenance.
  • Must understand the prioritization of safety, quality, and production, and be willing to work accordingly.  
  • Candidate must be able to perform installation, alignment, maintenance and repair of typical oilfield production and processing equipment.
  • Perform a large amount of physical labor in process facilities and in the field, lifting and installing parts, turning wrenches, using various electric and pneumatic tools, etc.  
  • Comply with Company and customer policies and procedures.
  • Support AES zero-incident safety culture and assume personal accountability and responsibility for safe work practices in all projects, activities, and operations.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or GED with a minimum of five years related training and experience required. A combination of training and experience may substitute the diploma requirement. Experience in the oil and gas industry and in the arctic environment preferred.

CERTIFICATIONS
North Slope Training Cooperative certification and valid driver’s license required. Industry Manufacturer’s certification preferred.  Employees in this position will be required to comply with the requirements of D.O.T. regulations 49 CFR, Part 199, section 195.50.  The requirements of 29 CFR with regard to Process Safety Management must also be met by employees in this position.

A candidate must be able to meet the following non-exclusive requirements:                                                               
  • Take and pass a pre-employment drug test which may include both UA and hair testing.                         
  • Meet the physical requirements of this position including working in a remote location under arctic conditions.
  • Required to take and pass a Fit-For-Duty Exam.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain an access badge for the work location.
The availability of this position is contingent upon the Company’s continued operational needs once training is completed.
