The Truck Driver facilitates the delivery of our products and materials to our customers.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Inspect and maintain vehicle supplies and equipment such as gas, oil, water, tires, lights and brakes to ensure that vehicles are in proper working condition.
- Load and unload trucks, vans, or automobiles.
- Obey traffic laws and follow written and transportation procedures.
- Perform emergency repairs such as changing tires or installing light bulbs, fuses, chains and spark plugs.
- Report any mechanical problems encountered with vehicles.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.

- Ability and willingness to abide by the company’s code of conduct, policies and procedures.

- Strong knowledge, understanding and sensitivity to the Inupiat culture.
- Knowledge of computerized accounting systems.
- Detail oriented and organized.
- Ability to prioritize and multi task to meet deadlines.
- Ability to comply with, understand, and support ASRC Construction’s safety culture to ensure a safe work environment.
- Ability to take direction when working with co-workers and supervisors
- Ability to learn the processes of pulling orders and loading materials on the truck.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence and speak effectively before groups of employees or customers.

QUALIFICATIONS
Required
- Ability to meet safety expectations of the position.
- A valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License, with an acceptable driving record and a CDL medical card.
- Air Brakes endorsement.
- Current or have the ability to obtain a Forklift Certification within five (5) days of hire.
- Prior work experience as a driver.
- Current Forklift certification.
- Prior experience with building material supply or wholesale supply.
- Experience working with truck mounted forklift delivery trucks, knuckle, and standard boom trucks.

The work environment is in a busy construction setting. The noise level in the work environment is usually varies. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions and may be required to travel in small and large commercial aircraft.
